History

The ministry has its roots deeply cemented in prayer and fasting. In 1987 a group of 15 people who are still our foundational members, began to meet together regularly for prayer in two homes on a weekly basis. These people were hungry for the move of God and eagerly arrived at meetings readily anticipating a move of the Spirit which was very evident and meetings quite frequently lasting until the early hours of the morning. Looking back now, little did we know that God was laying a foundation of what was to come. With no intention to start another church but still hungry for God, a small unused hall was rented in the early 1990’s attached to the main building of a Methodist Church. Due to the demands of the group and great desire for the Lord we then started to have Sunday evening services in this small hall big enough for approximately 50 people. At this time, we realised we needed to appoint a leader for the group and also a name. It was clearly evident that Patrick Dawkins, a young man called by the Lord from a background of drug addiction was to lead the group. Also various names for the fellowship were put forward in prayer and the name All Nations for Christ Christian Fellowship was chosen.

In 1995 the Methodist Circuit Mission were no longer in a position to manage the upkeep of the building and so the premises came up for sale on the open market. Of course, we knew it was God’s plan for us to submit an offer and the circuit were keen for the premises to remain in the hands of God’s people.

With approximately 35 attending members, the building along with the side hall which was our first meeting place were purchased by All Nations for Christ completely debt free which was an outstanding miracle. After major renovation work, the ministry was officially launched in 1997 by the Bishop John Anthony Francis of Ruach Ministries, London. In March 2002, Pastor Dawkins was officially inaugurated into full time ministry and since then the ministry has seen a major upturn in growth and has a healthy attendance of youth and people of all ages and backgrounds.

Current premises are now at a stage of being too small and the vision and mandate God has given us now beginning to surpass and outgrow our location. The ministry now sees on average between 250 – 300 people attending Sunday morning and evening services from all backgrounds and cultures and has many nations represented ie., India, Ireland, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, UK, Jamaica, South Africa, Tobago and many more. On occasions seating being so limited, only standing room available. The ministry now has in operation a part time Administrator with office based at the fellowship.

The ministry is now preparing to move to the next level and now looking to build a brand new multi-purpose complex located in a major part of the city.
